Yes, it's true. You can now play SNATCHER on your PC! That is, if you have the actual game (there's always a catch, isn't there?). Thanks to a spectacular emulator by the name of GENS, you can play SNATCHER and many other SEGA CD classics to near perfection.

GETTING STARTED:

First of all you need the GENS emulator and a copy of SNATCHER; either the original game or a copy of it (yes, CD-Rs do work). You can download GENS from it's official website here. As far as getting the actual game, you'd either have to be one of the lucky select few who has an original copy, or you'd have to download the game off of IRC or any other filesharing programs and then burn it to a disc. Don't forget the mp3 files for the CD audio parts of the game!

The next most important things you need are the bios files for the SEGA CD. These tell the GENS emulator which version of the SEGA CD you are playing (U.S., Japan, European). You can download the BIOS files from Eidolon's Inn here. Once you have all of that done, open up GENS and go to the OPTIONS area, and then to the "BIOS/MISC Files..." area. There you should see areas for each bios file. Depending on which one you downloaded and which version of the game you have, choose your bios file that you have just downloaded for that area.

The last thing you have to do, is select a CD drive to have the game disc play from. That is also in the OPTIONS area. From there simply place your disc in the selected drive and choose FILE, then BOOT CD. Don't forget to choose areas to save your games in the OPTIONS section as well, or you'll have to start from the beginning each time you play.

Have fun playing SNATCHER!

If you are having trouble operating GENS, please refer to the troubleshooting area of GENS official website here. Most problems refer to the problem involving using Windows XP. Just download the FORCE ASPI from the GENS site and run that program to fix it. It worked for me.
