Although I'm not the biggest fan of the Unleashed soundtrack, I'll still be picking this up. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the music, it just didn't stand out as much as say Sonic 06's soundtrack or any of the Jun Senoue works (Shadow, Heroes, Adventure 1/2). I did love the main orchestrated theme, though, as well as the remix of EGGMAN's theme from Sonic 06.
Also, that cover art could be better in my opinion. Here's hoping there are some bonus tracks like some demo or instrumental versions of the vocal songs.
Thanks to SONIC STYLE for providing the pic of the soundtrack.

Been playing Unleashed on both the 360 and PS2 and have also found out the name of the end credits theme as well as it's performer. It's called "Dear My Friend" by Brent Cash. I won't deny the guy can sing, but the song just doesn't work for me.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a world to reconstruct.
| UPDATE 11/19/08 : I hear it, I hear it now... |
|
Got my hands on SONIC Unleashed for the PS2. Since it was the PS2 version, I was able to rip the music from the game disc and was able to hear some of the music. A few comments on some of the more notable tracks:
Endless Possibility : Still haven't totally fallen for this song, but it is slowly growing on me...
Special Friends [End Credits Theme] (I'm assuming that's the title) Dear My Friend : Wow... there is corny and then there is DISNEY corny. This is bad. Bad bad bad. I swear it reminds me of a cheesier version of the CHEERS theme.
Dark Gaia ~Perfect~ / Final Boss Theme (I'm assuming) : Fans of Solaris Phase 2 (from Sonic '06 (360/PS3)) should LOOOOOOOVE this.
As for the rest of the music... not too shabby. Right up there with Sonic '06's soundtrack, in my opinion.

Straight from Bowling For Soup's Myspace:
Sonic Unleashed Theme Song
Jaret performs the theme song for Sonic Unleashed which hits the street this month!
US version.....November 18th Nintendo Wii / Sony PlayStation 2, November 24th Microsoft X360, and December 12th Sony PlayStation 3.
Check out your country's Sonic Unleashed website for international release dates.
The soundtrack will be released by Wavemaster Inc. on January 28th 2009 in the same manner as former SONIC series "Sonic Heroes", "Shadow" etc.
It will be in 3-CD style with over 91 tracks from the Game music, including Jaret's "Endless Possibility".
| UPDATE 11/14/08 : New year, new soundtrack... |
|
As if the wait for the game hasn't been difficult enough, I find out that the SONIC Unleashed (or Sonic World Adventure in Japan) original soundtrack has a release date. January 28, 2009 to be exact. Three CDs? This game must have ton of music. SONIC 06's soundtrack was also three CDs in length and that had over 90 tracks. I guess with both day-time and night-time versions of the tracks, those would fill up some space.
I have to wonder if there will be vocal CD release as well or will any vocal songs appear on the original soundtrack? SONIC 06 did have the vocal songs on it's original soundtrack, but it also had it's own seperate vocal CD. So far, only one vocal song has been verified and that's that "Endless Possibilities" song, which I will admit has grown on me a little. But only a little. It's still not that great a song, in my opinion.
| UPDATE 11/09/08 : READY... STOP?! |
|
Well, after having a release date of Nov. 18th for a while now, it looks like the 360 and PS3 versions of SONIC Unleashed are being pushed back. The 360 is being pushed back one week, while the PS3 version is being pushed back until Dec. 12th. That's OK, if it means they are using the extra time to make sure everything in the game is good.
Plus, from a music side of things I was planning to buy the PS2 version anyway (still listed as a Nov. 18th release) so I can rip the music from the game disc.
| UPDATE 11/09/08 : READY... GO! |
Just getting things started here by getting the main page up. For now, a live performance of Crush 40's upcoming track, "Knight Of The Wind", from SONIC & THE BLACK KNIGHT:
More to come soon!
